Day 7

exactly 7 days post op. first day back at work and it is tough. the issue is basically having my leg below my heart. yesterday I had to go out on crutches for most of the day 9-3 and it caused a lot of swelling in my fore foot and toes. The swelling didn't go down as much as I had hoped overnight and so today started out worse than I wanted and is steadily going down hill.

I can put more weight on it now, but am trying not too. I can feel the stitches sticking to the gauze on the inside of the cast as my foot has shrunk and can move around some.

hoping to make it until 2:00 today at work before heading back home to elevate it.

Day 2

Day 2

Thursday morning, 48 hours post op, the pain is down to an 8 when it peaks and a 5 when it subsides. I am not sure where the drugs are in terms of thier effect on me. I try to judge the effects based on my light headedness. but as I am writing this, I am having the 8's on the foot. I can wiggle my toes, and I slept a bit better last night, but from 12-3 was up and in some pain, I took more than the recommended dose of pain killers and it just made me lay there with some crazy thoughts while I noticed the pain and the food crumbs sticking to my back.

CNN sucks, I know why stay at home parents are crazy, and I am sick of my bed.

more updates later.
